Okay, my husband and I have become hooked on Farmtown, this silly little farming game on facebook. Basically you plant crops, harvest them and sell them. you can also buy tress, and hay and carts, barrels, anything you need for a farm, and as you get more points you can add more things..its really cute, really corny and really addicting. Lol. so heres the deal, my husband and I always end up having friendly competitions against each other. and I came up with some pretty simple math to figure out which crops give the most profit…he says I’m wrong and therefore he will win. so here is my math:
some crops take 1 day to grow, others take 2 or 3 days to grow.
I’ve already broken them down into one day crops
tomatoes cost 25 dollars, you get 70 dollars back
rice cost 40 you get 95 back
corn cost 43 you get 95 back
potatoes cost 40 you get 99 back
strawberries cost 30 you get 85 back
wheat cost 40 you get 90 back
sunflowers cost 38 you get 92 back
coffee cost 50 dollars you get 99 back.
but heres the deal..you have to figure out how many crops you can get for the price of the other…for example, I may spend 50 dollars for the coffe and get 99 dollars back..giving me a profit of 49 dollars, but I can buy twice the amount of tomatoes for the same price of coffee, actually giving me 140 dollars back, which gives me a profit of 90 dollars as compared to the 49 dollars of the coffee.
after all this..I came to the conclusion that it was the strawberries which give me the most profit out of any of them. He says its the potatoes. but when I figured it up..if I pay say 1200 for strawberries..giving me 40 crops, that gives me 3400 back, minus my 1200 gives me 2200 total profit.
but if I buy 1200 in potatoes, that only gives me 30 crops, which gives me 1770 in total profit. so here the strawberries give me more profit..
he says I am adding wrong somewhere. Am I? silly I know, but he constantly thinks he is so much smarter than me..I really want to pull one over on him.
on top of this.,,his cousin swears its the coffee which gives us the most profit.

Ok, Tomorrow is districts and I’m making a shirt to wear to them.

Our team name is the “Rangers” and it’s a boys game.
